North Idaho Media produces short-form video for product information or for your social media website.
The video project below is a special project about protecting a 10 acre wetland in Hayden, Idaho.
The video is about 3 minutes showing the source of the water, the wetlands area and the stream that feeds the aquifer that provides the sole source of drinking water for much of North Idaho and all of Spokane, WA.
Stone Creek North is now an approved subdivision in Hayden, Idaho. The builder is planning on building 70 homes, 30 of the homesites are directly on top of this 10 acre wetland. Despite having Idaho Fish & Game and Idaho Department of Environmental Quality recommend protection for the wetlands, the city council is moving to approve this project while ignoring the advice from Idaho Agencies.
Residents in adjoining neighborhoods have protested this development for 2 years submitting hundreds of comments, public presentations and petitions to no avail. Situations like this make a person wonder if we really have a representative type of government or if elected “leaders” do whatever they want and ignore the public.
The picture on the left is the current state of the wetland. The developer has used crushed rock in an attempt to fill in the wetlands, pushing the water away from the 10 acres of wetland property. This was taken in February, 2024. This is the same area of the above video and it shows the complete destruction of the wetlands.
